Hi everyone, Oscar here.
What can I say besides the obvious - my blog, this blog, took a back seat just like a lot of my photos these last few months. To be more specific and I'm still trying to figure out how to word it as a post, I lost someone special in the beginning of the year and I can't really say that I lost someone when everyone that was touched by her, too had lost someone they loved. It was hard, well it's been hard and for most of you who see me and my feed as very relaxed and zen like but in reality I'm heartbroken, trying to cure my pain with the one thing I know - Photography. My cure for all ailments in life. Those of you who are close to her would feel the same. For those who don't know, the person we loved and lost was my grandmother Isabel E. Socarras. She showed me meaning, love, life, travel, religion, and best of all photography. I started photography at a young age, taking photos of squirrels, planes, and travels we would go on. Fast forward to 2004 and he she was buying me my first digital camera. Needless to say since then I haven't left my camera behind and I was always thinking of capturing my next image to show her.
She reminds me to always share the beauty that surrounds me, and while I may no longer be able to share my images with her, I will make sure to share them with you and in memory with her. The joy you get from my images is the same that she had.
I ask you for one thing, love, hug, and photograph those who are close to you, for you will never know how much you miss them until they are gone.
